Harris Students win 2013 Illinois Clean Energy Student Challenge

Effortless Energy, led by Chicago Harris students Claire Tramm and Matt Gee, was named the Illinois winner of the 2013 Clean Energy Student Challenge.

Effortless Energy acts a market maker between homeowners, energy auditors, contractors, grant programs and financiers. Using a proprietary financial model and advanced technologies, Effortless Energy makes efficiency upgrades simple for homeowners while lowering utility bills and raising home values.

The team will go on to represent Illinois in the finals on April 4th, competing for a grand prize of $100,000 cash and the opportunity to compete in the U.S. Department of Energy’s second annual National Clean Energy Business Plan Competition.
