The Amy Marie Bosman Memorial Fellowship was created in 2004 to honor late Harris School student Amy Marie Bosman. Fellowships are awarded to Harris students who have secured unpaid public service or non-profit summer internships between their first and second years of school that demonstrate a dedication to enhancing social justice, political and economic conditions, and/or environmental resources in the local or global community.

"The work completed by our Bosman Fellows enriches our academic community and provides a valuable resource for incoming students who may seek to pursue similar studies in their time at the Harris School," said Colm O'Muircheartaigh, Dean of the Harris School. Funding for the Bosman Fellowship comes from the annual Harris School of Public Policy Fellowship auction. The most recent auction was held on April 13, 2012 and brought in over $12,000 from students, alumni, and friends of the Harris School community.

"The Bosman Fellowships allow Harris Students the opportunity to spend a summer pursuing their academic and professional passions, regardless of whether or not their desired position is funded," said Colin Buerger, chair of PPSA's auction committee. "The goal of the fellowships is to help recipients to accept positions that might not otherwise be feasible, and the support from the auction is critical in allowing us to continue to make this possible."

Past recipients have worked with the United Nations, the World Policy Institute, the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority, and many others. The new Bosman Fellows will return to the Harris School to share their experiences with incoming students in the fall.
