Rupa Datta, Ph.D.
Rupa Datta is a Vice President and Senior Fellow at NORC at the University of Chicago, where she leads major studies pertaining to education policy. She is the Project Director of the National Survey of Early Care and Education, the first national study of the supply of and demand for non-parental care for children under age 13 since 1990. She has also been part of the leadership team of the National Longitudinal Surveys of Youth since 1997, including having served as project director for the NLSY97 School Survey, High School Transcript Survey, and College Transcript Survey. Her research interests lie in educational choice and survey data quality. Datta received her Ph.D. from the Harris School. She has taught undergraduate policy research methods and graduate policy courses for several years.
