Joseph Harris, Ph.D.

Lecturer

Joseph Harris teaches courses in global health, development, and policy communications at the Harris School.  His most recent work has centered on the political dynamics that underlay the surprising shift towards universal health coverage in the developing world.  He has worked with a variety of international development institutions, including the World Bank, UNDP, and Grameen Foundation.  He is a past recipient of the Henry Luce Scholarship and the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Award, and he holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master’s in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
