DIC Members | Santiago 2011
The 14th meeting of the Dean’s International Council was held November 9 - 11, 2011, in Santiago, Chile. The meeting focused on enhancing dialogue on natural resources and international trade with an emphasis on South American economies, and also explored emerging urban policy issues around the globe and how they impact city and national governance in South America and beyond.
The meeting began with a breakfast featuring Cristian Larroulet Vignau, Secretary General of the Presidency of Chile. Additional featured and keynote speakers included Alan J. Donnelly, Former Leader of the European Labour Party; Mehmet Celebi, Partner, Baykam-RBM; and Ellen Cohen, Dean of Students at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy.
Roundtable and panel discussions included "Turkey and the Arab Spring" and "Higher Education Challenges: Latin America, Europe, and the United States."
