DIC Members | Istanbul 2009
The tenth meeting of the Dean’s International Council was held in Istanbul, Turkey and focused on the importance of Turkey in the mediation process for peace and security in the Middle East, as well as its efforts to join the European Union.
The opening reception and dinner featured an address on U.S./Turkish relations delivered by U.S. Congressman Robert Wexler (D-Florida). Panel discussions examined foreign policy in the Middle East, Turkey/Armenian relations, and investment opportunities in Turkey.
Keynote speeches were delivered by Mehmet Simsek, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Turkey; Dr. Feroz Ahmad, Professor at T.C. Yeditape University; Haroutian Samuelian, Vice Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon; and Egemen Bagis, Minister of European Affairs for the Republic of Turkey.
