This course covers policy issues related to primary and secondary education in developed, middle-development and developing countries.  It provides an overview of global and regional trends in schooling and a research-based critical assessment of major education policies and reforms as they are implemented world-wide.  These policies and reforms include teacher pay and incentives, curricular reforms including technology in the classroom, school-based management, class size, school choice, accountability reforms including high-stakes testing, and school finance options.
