Life After Chicago Harris

The University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy recently completed an audit of women and men who earned an MPP/AM in 2011 to see whether and where they were currently employed. We heard from 109 of the 131 women and men who earned an MPP/AM in 2011. Among these respondents, 98 percent (107) were employed and the remaining two percent (2) were pursuing further graduate study.

2011 MPP/AM Graduates Find Careers
in a Variety of Sectors
Of the 2011 graduates who reported that they were currently employed: 37 percent went on to careers in the non-profit sector; 36 percent in the public sector, and; 27 percent in the private sector.

PhD Employment Data
There were three Chicago Harris PhD student who graduated in 2011. These students secured the following positions after gratudation:

NOTES: There were 131 MPP/AM graduates in the class of 2011 and 129 completed Graduating Student Surveys as of June 2011. As of July 2012 we have collected information for 109 (83%) of the graduates which indicates that 107 are employed and 2 are pursuing further graduate study.
