James E. Nappo
Jim Nappo is a Managing Director at Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking department, based in Chicago. He is the Co-Head of Credit Suisse’s Diversified Industrial business in the Americas, as well as Co-Head of the Chicago Office. Mr. Nappo’s coverage responsibilities include many of the Bank’s most important relationships within the diversified industrial and alternative energy sectors around the world. Mr. Nappo also serves on the firm’s Investment Banking Financing Committee, the body responsible for approving all financing transactions in the Americas.
Prior to rejoining Credit Suisse in 2007, Mr. Nappo was a founding member of the UBS mid-west office, Head of the Alternative Energy business, and a Managing Director for three years. Prior to his time at UBS, and since 1992, he worked at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York, London and Chicago.
With nearly 20 years of advisory experience, Mr. Nappo has significant M&A transaction expertise including corporate acquisitions, divestitures, and hostile defense advisory. He has advised clients on both buy and sell side transactions on 5 continents totaling in excess of $20 billion.
Mr. Nappo has advised on and executed capital raising transactions for clients in investment grade, high yield and convertible debt and equity capital raises (both follow-ons and IPO’s), as well as structured financings and private placements.
Mr. Nappo holds a B.B.A. in finance and business economics from the University of Notre Dame.
